LunaPDF™ - Terms of Use
This is an unofficial translation provided for convenience. In the event of any inconsistency or discrepancy, the original Spanish version shall prevail.
These Terms of Use govern the use of the LunaPDF application ("the Application"), developed by William Luna Morales, operating under the trade name LunaPDF™ (hereinafter, "the Developer"). By using the Application, you agree to these terms.
1. NATURE OF THE SERVICE
LunaPDF is a Windows desktop application that processes PDF files 100% locally on the User's device, and does not transmit the User's documents to any external server. The operation of the Application's processing tools does not require an Internet connection. An Internet connection may be required to make in-app purchases or for certain operations related to the Microsoft Store.
2. RESPONSIBILITY FOR CONTENT
The User is solely and exclusively responsible for the content of the files processed with LunaPDF. The Developer does not review, control, or have access to such files, and is not responsible for how the User uses the Application or for the content of the processed documents.
The User represents that they hold the necessary rights or authorizations to process the documents through the Application.
3. NO GUARANTEE OF FILE RECOVERY OR ACCURACY
Although LunaPDF has been designed and tested to operate stably, the Developer does not guarantee that the Application is free of errors or that it can recover, repair, or correctly process files that are damaged, corrupted, or protected in a non-standard way. Users are advised to keep backup copies of their original documents before processing them.
The conversion and text recognition features, such as PDF to Word, PDF to Excel, Searchable PDF and the "Keep layout" option, produce results that may vary depending on the quality, resolution, typography and structure of the original document, and may contain errors in characters, numbers, formatting, tables or the position of elements. The User must review the result before using it, especially when it contains amounts, dates, personal data or information with legal effects.
4. "AS IS" SERVICE
The Application is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by applicable law in the User's jurisdiction.
5. ACCEPTABLE USE
The User agrees not to use LunaPDF to process illegal content, to infringe third-party copyrights, or for any purpose contrary to applicable law.
The User also may not attempt to compromise the security or normal operation of the Application.
In particular, the User may not use the Application to alter, forge or manipulate documents—such as receipts, invoices, identification documents, certificates or account statements—in order to deceive third parties or commit fraud.
6. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
LunaPDF™, its name, logo, visual identity, interface, design, and other distinctive elements are the exclusive property of William Luna Morales and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Unauthorized use, reproduction, or exploitation is prohibited. This does not include third-party software components incorporated into the Application, which remain subject to their respective licenses, available within the Application itself in the "View Binary Component Licenses" section.
7. PREMIUM FEATURES AND PURCHASES
LunaPDF includes a set of features available free of charge, with no usage or time limits. Additionally, the Application offers a set of optional features under the "LunaPDF Premium" tier, which are unlocked through a one-time payment made via the Microsoft Store.
LunaPDF Premium is not a subscription: it does not involve recurring charges or automatic renewal. The current price is shown in the Microsoft Store before completing the purchase.
Billing, payment methods, refunds, and cancellations are managed directly by the Microsoft Store, in accordance with its own policies; the Developer does not process or have access to the User's payment data.
LunaPDF does not display third-party advertising and does not collect data for advertising purposes.
8. MODIFICATIONS
The Developer may update these Terms of Use in future versions of the Application. Updated versions will be made available together with new versions of LunaPDF. Modifications shall take effect upon their publication or upon the corresponding update of the Application, as applicable. Where required by applicable law, the User will be informed of relevant changes.
