LunaPDF™ - Privacy Policy
This is an unofficial translation provided for convenience. In the event of any inconsistency or discrepancy, the original Spanish version shall prevail.
William Luna Morales, operating under the trade name LunaPDF™ (hereinafter, "the Developer"), develops LunaPDF ("the Application"). This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected (and what is not) when using the Application.
1. YOUR FILES AND DOCUMENTS
LunaPDF processes your PDF files and images exclusively locally, on your own device. The Application:
- Does NOT upload your documents to the internet or to any external server.
- Does NOT store copies of your files outside your device.
- Does NOT require you to create an account or sign in to use its features.
- Does NOT have remote access to your files or your operation History, which is stored solely on your own device.
- The text recognition (OCR) features used in "Searchable PDF" and "Smart PDF to Word" run locally on your own device, using OCR models and processing components installed with the Application. Documents, images, and text processed through these features are not sent over the internet or to external servers to perform recognition.
- OCR processing does not require an account, a connection to cloud-based artificial intelligence services, or uploading your documents to external servers. Temporary files and results generated during processing are handled locally on your device, in accordance with how the Application works.
- The content of your documents is never used for analysis, artificial intelligence model training, or profiling.
- The same local processing also applies to "PDF to Excel" and to the "Keep layout" option of the PDF to Word feature.
2. MINIMAL TECHNICAL INFORMATION
The Application may locally store on your device (never on a server) settings and preferences, such as your default destination folder or the file name prefix you choose, for the sole purpose of improving your user experience. These settings remain only on the User's device and can be removed by uninstalling the application or clearing its local data.
The operation History is stored only on your computer. If you export it to CSV, the file is created in the location you choose and is not sent to any server. The "Open file" and "Show in folder" options use the applications and features of your own Windows. If you use "Contact" or "Report a bug", your email program opens and only the information you choose to include and send is sent.
3. PREMIUM FEATURES AND PURCHASES
LunaPDF offers an optional set of additional features ("LunaPDF Premium") that are unlocked through a one-time payment made via the Microsoft Store. The purchase does not constitute a subscription and does not generate recurring charges from LunaPDF.
The purchase transaction is processed entirely by the Microsoft Store; the Developer does not receive, process, or store the User's payment, card, or billing data. Payment processing, billing, refunds, and other aspects related to the transaction are governed by the applicable terms and policies of the Microsoft Store.
Microsoft processes information related to the purchase in accordance with its own Privacy Policy.
LunaPDF does not display third-party advertising and does not collect data for advertising purposes.
4. MINORS
LunaPDF is not specifically directed at minors and does not knowingly request or collect personal information from minors.
5. SECURITY
All technical information the Application may store locally remains on your device under your control. LunaPDF does not transmit your documents or usage information to the Developer's servers. However, no computer system can guarantee absolute security, so the User is also responsible for protecting physical and logical access to their own device.
6. DATA RETENTION
Since LunaPDF processes documents exclusively locally, the Developer does not retain copies of the User's files nor has access to them. Information stored by the Application remains on the User's device until the User decides to delete it or uninstalls the Application.
7. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
This Privacy Policy may be updated in future versions of LunaPDF, particularly when incorporating new features. The "Last Updated" date at the beginning of this document reflects the current version.
